Touted as the world's first 500-V, high-Q monolithic ceramic capacitor with base-metal electrodes, the GQM22 series capacitors are suited for high-frequency applications like power amplifiers (PAs) for base stations. Developed using base-metals technology and co-fired ceramic materials, the GQM22 series vows to eliminate the problems normally associated with base-metal electrodes while providing improved features. For example, the capacitor does not require periodic adjustmentsan issue that is common with other base-metal-electrode, high-voltage capacitors. It offers a 40-percent improvement in Q at 1 MHz compared to general-purpose medium- and high-voltage capacitors. The GQM22 series (2.8 x 2.8 x 1.15 mm) is available with capacitance values from 0.5 to 100 pF. It can be used for tight-tolerance products around a capacitance tolerance of B (0.1 pF) and C (0.25 pF). These features are best for matching or coupling circuits used in applications like PAs for mobile-communications and WiMAX and LTE base stations as well as related high-frequency RF modules. P&A: sample pricing is approximately $0.35 to $1.11 each, depending on the part number; stock to 12 weeks.
