Low-Noise Amplifier Covers 0.2 to 18 GHz with >23-dB Gain

Planar Monolithics’ LNA delivers relatively flat gain over the operating range and a 5-dB maximum noise figure.

Planar Monolithics (PMI) launched its Model PE2-25-200M18-3D5-25-SFF, a low-noise amplifier that spans 0.2 to 18 GHz. It provides >23 dB of gain and maintains a maximum gain flatness of ±2 dB maximum over the operating frequency. Additionally, the amplifier offers a noise figure of 5 dB maximum from 0.5 to 18 GHz and an OP1dB gain compression of 23 dBm minimum.

The amplifier accepts an operating voltage of +12 to +15 V DC with a maximum current draw of 300 mA. It comes in the company’s PE2 housing, which renders it usable as an SMA-connectorized or surface-mounted component. The device’s operating temperature range spans –55 to +85°C.
