In introducing its QPA9510, a compact, highly efficient RF power amplifier (PA) that delivers wideband coverage from 100 to 1,000 MHz, Qorvo offers designers a means of replacing multiple discrete PAs with one device.
As a result, the QPA9510 reduces parts count, simplifies board design, and accelerates time-to-market for next-generation sub-1-GHz wireless systems. With the device, which covers GSM and E-GSM frequencies in the UHF band, designers can cover more bands, extend device battery life, and reduce board redesigns.
As demand rises for portable and long-range wireless communication in markets like public-safety radios, smart utility metering, RFID logistics, and telematics, so does pressure on designers to support multiple regional bands, extend battery life, and minimize form factors. The QPA9510 meets these challenges with high efficiency, flat gain performance, and a pin-compatible design that supports reuse across product families.
Key specifications for the QPA9510 include:
- +36 dBm of output power and 34 dB of gain for strong link budgets in space-constrained systems.
- 55% efficiency, enabling longer runtime in battery-powered radios and IoT devices.
- Over 70 dB of on-chip analog gain control for simplified system calibration and tuning.
- A compact 3- × 3-mm QFN package with efficient thermal performance for handheld and embedded applications.
When combined with Qorvo’s low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), digital step attenuators (DSAs), and RF switches, the QPA9510 enables complete RF front-end solutions for high-efficiency transmit-and-receive chains in linear communication systems.
The QPA9510 and its evaluation board are available now.
