Mission Microwave's MOAB-Ku-750 modular operational amplifier block (MOAB) expands a Ku-band solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) line to include output-power levels from 25 W to 1 kW. This latest amplifier, with 750 W (+58.75 dBm) output power from 13.75 to 14.50 GHz (and available in a low-band option from 12.75 to 13.25 GHz and as high as 14.8 GHz in frequency), provides 70-dB nominal gain.
The amplifier is well-equipped for satellite-communications (satcom) applications, fitting a compact 48-lb package that can mount directly to an antenna. It delivers 316 W (+55 dBm) two-tone linear output power with linear power consumption of 2.8 kW.
The MOAB operates from a power supply of 200 to 240 V AC, 50 to 60 Hz, across a temperature range of –40 to +55°C. An L-band input port accepts signals from 950 to 1,700 MHz and low-band range spanning 950 to 1,450 MHz.
The amplifier is available with RS-485, RS-232, and optional RJ-45 Ethernet interfaces.
