Semitech Semiconductor, Occitaline, and Safesquare released the Babi-LON platform, which blends hardware and software for LonWorks power-line communication.
Babi-LON is intended to replace legacy solutions like the Echelon-developed PL3120 transceiver. It handles applications such as smart metering, industrial automation, and transportation markets.
Offering reliability, advanced modulation, and performance under demanding noise conditions, the system serves as an advanced backward-compatible replacement for legacy EIA-709.2 solutions in LonWorks-based systems. The Babi-LON platform is also a development environment. It simplifies migration with standard interfaces and established protocol stacks, replacing obsolete systems while maintaining existing networks.
