Coupler Connects 4 To 8 GHz

Feb. 7, 2014
A compact coaxial directional coupler with Type N connectors handles high power levels from 4 to 8 GHz with low loss.

Model N5164-30 is a 30-dB directional coupler with worst-case coupling variations of ±1 dB from 4 to 8 GHz. Supplied with Type-N coaxial connectors, the directional coupler achieves minimum directivity of 17 dB across the full frequency range, with maximum VSWR of 1.40:1 at both the primary and secondary ports. The maximum insertion loss is 0.4 dB across the frequency range. The directional coupler handles 50 W average power and 3 kW peak power. It is constructed of an aluminum body with MIL-C-39012 grade connectors. Other models are available with 10- and 20-dB directivity and for frequency coverage in bands from 0.25 to 8.00 GHz.
