Bluetooth Evaluation Board Handles Rapid Testing and Prototyping

May 6, 2025
Panasonic released an evaluation board for the PAN B511-1C Bluetooth module that leverages the Nordic nRF54L15 single-chip controller.

Panasonic Industry recently introduced the B511-1C Evaluation Board (ENW89861AXKF) for the PAN B511-1C (ENW89861A3KF) module that leverages the Nordic Semiconductor nRF54L15 single-chip controller. The evaluation board, which has an Arduino UNO pin header, is configurable as a shield or board with a mikroBUS socket for external components like sensors and displays. Features include an additional 64-Mb memory on board as well as a board configuration available within Zephyr/nRF Connect SDK.

The board offers module interfaces like GPIOs (all 32), NFC-A, current measurement pins, and a Segger J-Link on-board debugger. A dedicated number of GPIOs are positioned at the edge of the module, with the rest of the GPIOs located at the bottom pad.

A hybrid packaging design of castellated holes and LGA keeps the module coin-sized, with pin-to-size ratios compatible with Bluetooth modules currently on the market. The PAN B511-1C Bluetooth module will be certified for CE RED, FCC, ISED, and MIC.
