Collins Aerospace Recognizes Gowanda as Top Supplier

June 2, 2021
Gowanda Electronics was awarded the Supplier of the Year for Electronic Components and Distribution for excellence in supply-chain support in 2021 by Collins Aerospace.

Collins Aerospace, a unit of Raytheon Technologies, has recognized Gowanda Electronics with its Supplier of the Year for Electronic Components and Distribution. The award (see the figure) was presented at Collins Aerospace’s 2021 Avionics Supply Chain Recognition Event in April 2021. Gowanda Electronics is a developer and supplier of high-performance inductors and magnetic components for RF/microwave and power circuit applications. The prestigious award considers several factors, including engineering support and account management capabilities. Gowanda Electronics was one of only eight companies selected from hundreds of suppliers by Collins Aerospace for excellence in supply-chain performance.

Denis Kohlhagen, vice-president of sales for Gowanda Electronics, said: “This award from Collins Aerospace—a $19 billion dollar business unit of Raytheon Technologies—highlights and rewards Gowanda for our outstanding abilities, technologies, and customer service in the development and supply of inductor components to major players in aerospace and defense markets. We are grateful to be recognized for our achievements and we look forward to deepening our relationship with Collins Aerospace in the years ahead.”

Gowanda's product lines include custom and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) magnetic components, such as chokes, coils, inductors, toroids, and transformers. The privately-held company provides components in various configurations, including in standard through-hole-mount and surface-mount-technology (SMT) versions. The components are used in power and high-frequency circuits for a wide range of applications, including for communications, medical electronics, and test-and-measurement equipment. The company is certified to AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 quality management standards and offers both lead-free RoHS-compliant and lead-containing components for quality-products-list (QPL) applications.
