Nujira, Cambridge, England, has added a WiMAX optimised solution to its HAT envelope tracking modulator range for RF power amplifiers that have a TDD mode. TDD mode puts the PA in a low-power idle state during the receive interval.

For WCDMA, LTE, and other transmissions, the WiMAX module provides the same performance as the standard Nujira HAT modulator module. The company says that Nujira HAT envelope tracking technology can make the next generation of cellular base stations 2-3 times more efficient than the current network, despite the wider frequency bandwidths and the greater performance demands required to support WiMAX, WCDMA, and LTE transmissions.
