A temperature-controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO) dubbed the VFTX210 has debuted for times applications like wideband analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and direct-digital-synthesizer (DDS) architectures, radar systems, point-to-point radios, and wireless commnuication systems.

The VFTX210 provides a sinewave output frequency to 1.0 GHz with phase jitter of less than 0.3 ps typical from 12 kHz to 20 MHz. At 1 GHz, it offers phase noise of -121 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz. Temperature stability is less than 1.0 ppm over a temperature range of -40° to +85C. The TCXO typically consumes 0.24 W when operating from a +3.3-V supply. It features an internal voltage regulator for improved stability and noise performance. For a 50-Ω load with an output frequency of more than 500 MHz, the device's sinewave output is at least +6 dBm and typically +8 dBm. For the same load and output frequency of less than 500 MHz, the sinewave output is 8 dBm minimum and 10 dBm typical. Subharmonics are rated at -42 dBc typical and -36 dBc maximum. the oscillator starts up in 3 s. The VFTX210 is available in a 20.0-x-20.0-mm surface-mount package.
