Strategic partners in space, Airbus Defence & Space and Greenerwave strengthened their companies’ ties with the signing of two satellite-communications (satcom) contracts, which should benefit France’s armed forces. By working with Greenerwave’s flat-panel antennas, Airbus Defence and Space is enhancing their capabilities in satcom power efficiency (see image above).

Greenerwave’s President and Co-Founder, Geoffroy Lerosey, noted, “The strengthening of our partnership with Airbus Defence and Space marks a major milestone for Greenerwave. It demonstrates the relevance of our satellite communication solutions in demanding environments, where performance, energy efficiency, and flexibility have become strategic requirements.”

Lerosey added, “These new contracts also reflect our tangible contribution to French and European technological sovereignty.”

Eric Even, Senior Vice President and Head of Space Digital at Airbus Defence & Space, said, “This strategic partnership between Airbus Defence and Space, leveraging over 50 years of expertise in the secured satellite communication domain, and Greenerwave, a leader in innovative multiband antennas, represents a major advancement in the emergence of a new generation of terminals for defence applications. Together, we will offer an end-to-end and disruptive solution, enhancing the capabilities of the French armed forces.”

The partnership is one sign of the current interest in a “France first” or “Made in France” attitude toward the development of innovative communications technology.
