Orbit to Supply Multiband Military Satcom Systems

The OceanTRx4 MIL satcom system supports a 1.15-m antenna and simultaneous operation at Ku-, X-, and Ka-band frequencies.

Orbit Communications Systems has received an order of approximately $2.4 million to supply a leading European defense electronics integrator with multiple-band satellite connectivity for NATO naval platforms. Deliveries of mission-critical airborne and maritime OceanTRx4 MIL satcom systems are scheduled to begin in 2026. The satcom systems support communications at multiple simultaneous frequency bands. 

The CEO of Orbit, Daniel Eshchar, noted, “We are proud to receive another order from a leading European integrator for our advanced maritime satcom systems, supporting a major NATO fleet. The OceanTRx4 MIL enables operational flexibility through simultaneous multi-frequency operation and is part of our proven family of military naval satcom solutions.”

Eshchar reflected upon the increasing need for satcom capabilities at sea: “These orders further underscore Orbit’s technological leadership in maritime satellite communications, particularly for advanced naval forces, and reflect growing demand for resilient, high-performance connectivity at sea.”

The OceanTRx4 MIL satcom system (see image above) is based on the company’s OceanTRx4 architecture, enhanced through the inclusion of extended capabilities. The system, which is designed for maritime use, supports a 1.15-m antenna for use at Ku-, X-, and Ka-band frequencies. It has the capability to operate at multiple frequency bands simultaneously as well as with multiple networks and multiple-orbit satellites simultaneously.

The satcom system, optimized for rapid installation and ease of maintenance, is engineered to handle the most hostile operating environments.
