Many millimeter wave (mmWave) systems require antenna arrays with hundreds if not thousands elements. Designing and verifying the performance of massive MIMO RF front-ends and beamforming systems before building costly prototypes is extremely challenging. Using models at different levels of abstraction, we will measure the end-to-end system performance for different communications standards, and we will further speed up simulation by using parallel computing.

  • Modeling large antenna arrays and coupling effects
  • Speeding up simulation using parallel computing
  • Measuring ACLR and dynamic EVM using standard compliant waveforms

Giorgia Zucchelli | Product Manager | MathWorks

Giorgia Zucchelli is the product manager for RF and mixed-signal at MathWorks. Before moving to this role in 2012, she was an application engineer focusing on signal processing and communications systems and specializing in analog simulation. Before joining MathWorks in 2009, Giorgia worked at NXP Semiconductors on mixed-signal verification methodologies and at Philips Research developing system-level models for innovative communications systems. Giorgia has a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in electronics for telecommunications from the University of Bologna. Her thesis dealt with modeling high-frequency RF devices.
