U.S. Army Names FLIR for Land Surveillance Systems

FLIR Systems has received a $74.7 million firm-fixed-price order from the U.S. Army for TacFLIR surveillance cameras in support of the EO/IR Force Protection program.

FLIR Systems, Inc. has been awarded a $74.7 million firm-fixed-price order for TacFLIR surveillance cameras in support of the U.S. Army’s electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) Force Protection program. The purchase will take place through the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal. As part of the same program, FLIR was also awarded an $8.8 million contract in the third quarter of 2017 to deliver other FLIR Ranger radars. 

TacFLIR systems such as the TacFLIR-230, TacFLIR 280-HD, and TacFLIR-380 are compact intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems based on EO and IR imaging. They provide high image resolution with zoom ratios of greater than 100 times (in the TacFLIR-380), along with ease of installation and use. The systems delivered under this contract are meant to provide enhanced perimeter security and force protection for U.S. troops stationed around the world.
