Laird Technologies has introduced its Orbcomm Phantom(R) VG antenna, a low-profile, rugged design that can handle VHF communications in addition to Global Positioning System (GPS) signals. The bar-style antenna measures only 2.2 inches high, 3 inches wide, and 12.5 iches long. It features VSWR of less than 2.0:1 from 137 to 149 MHz and offers field diversity technology which generates a full spherical radiation pattern. The antenna is ideal for applications in over-the-road trucking, industrial and construction equipment, railway and marine transport, and public safety radios.
