A series of ultra-broadband capacitors has been developed to address DC-blocking issues from 16 kHz to 40 GHz. In most applications, the GX series of capacitors exhibits resonance- free insertion loss below 0.5 dB through at least 40 GHz. At higher frequencies, insertion losses will depend at least partially on installation parameters. The capacitors are offered in 0.1- F capacitance with tolerances of 10 or 20 percent. They are rated to handle +16 VDC at +85C or +10 VDC at +125C. Because they incorporate a proprietary precision termination process, the components are insensitive to orientation. To minimize space requirements, they are constructed with a standard EIA 0402 footprint. The capacitors are available with either X5R or X7S dielectric characteristic. Both Ni/Sn and Ni/Au terminations are available to cover a wide range of attachment processes. P&A: starting at $1.00 to $1.50 each depending on style; 6 weeks.
