Hittite Microwave has developed the model HMC611LP4(E) logarithmic detector/controller for coverage of the 1-MHz-to-10-GHz range. The detector, which converts an RF input power level to a proportional output DC voltage, features a dynamic range of better than 6- dB through 5.8 GHz and 54 dB through 8 GHz with 1-dB detector error over temperature. It features a nominal log slope of 25 mV/dB and nominal third-order intercept point of +12 dBm to 5.8 GHz. The 50-ohm log detector/controller draws 106 mA from a +5-VDC supply.
