Released in conjunction with this week’s European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, TriQuint Semiconductor’s model TGA4947-SL is an extremely high-speed optical modulator that supports both 40- and 100-Gb/s optical networks. This is the industry’s first dual-channel surface-mount optical modulator driver for these transmission speeds. Its compact form factor also helps to reduce the size of optical-communications printed-circuit boards (PCBs).
