Integrated Antenna Enclosures Simplify Router Installations

June 2, 2025
Taoglas' Thunder Series of integrated antenna enclosures helps ease the process of router installations and cuts deployment costs.

Intended to optimize installations, reduce signal loss, and significantly lower deployment costs, Taoglas' latest Thunder Series of high-performance outdoor antenna enclosures supports direct integration and installation of the router within the antenna package.

Designed for demanding outdoor environments, the series is purpose-built for leading routers from Digi, Ericsson, and Semtech, among others. The Thunder Series leverages wideband antenna technology in a rugged enclosure with an internal router to significantly reduce the need for long RF cables while minimizing signal loss, installation time, and material and labor costs.

Operating across a broad 600- to 6,000-MHz frequency range, the Thunder Series supports 5G/4G, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and Bluetooth for low-band cellular, mid-band 5G, and Wi-Fi 6/6E frequencies. Placing the router and the antenna in the same enclosure minimizes cable loss, reducing installation costs while simplifying implementation and deployment. Also, the addition of a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) splitter simplifies powering the router.

The Thunder Series is available in directional and omnidirectional versions. The IP67-rated ABS enclosures handle harsh outdoor conditions and mission-critical deployments across transportation, mining, agriculture, smart cities, and industrial automation.
