Signal Generators and Multimeters Join Portable Instrument Family
RIGOL USA has launched three new instruments in its family of ultra-portable instruments. These function/arbitrary waveform generators and digital multimeters (DMMs) pack lots of performance and functionality into a small package.
Beyond the functionality implied in their names, the DG800 Pro and DG900 Pro Series function/arbitrary waveform generators can serve as a noise generator, pulse generator, harmonic generator, analog/digital modulator, and frequency counter. They supply up to 200-MHz maximum output frequency, a 1.25-Gsample/s rate, 16-bit vertical resolution, and 3-ns rise time, all in a compact chassis with a 7-in. color touch display.
For its part, the lightweight DM858 Series is a benchtop 5.5-digit DMM with 7-in. color touch display. Besides 11 measurement functions, the instrument offers trend charting, histograms, and bar table visual display options. It will take 125 readings per second and log up to 500,000 memory points.
All of these new instruments save space on the testbench. They even comply with VESA 100x100 mounting, so you can use stands or movable arm mounts to save even more bench or desk space. There's also a Type-C interface, which, combined with their weights of 4 lbs. or less, lets you take a power bank along to the field for longer run times.
