The U.S. Army recruited drone and robotics supplier Draganfly Inc. to aid with enhanced overseas security. The company is being sought for its first-person-view (FPV) uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) systems (see image above) after having been enlisted for drones as border security devices.
As part of supplying its Flex FPV drones for remote surveillance of overseas U.S. armed-forces facilities, Draganfly will establish on-site manufacturing at those facilities along with flight and manufacturing training to help sustain drone-based operations. Manufacturing will be in compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to prohibit procurement of supplies from undesirable global sources and locations.
The U.S. Army has successfully employed armed and unarmed FPV drones constructed at its own remote manufacturing facilities with the aid of Draganfly’s Embedded Manufacturing Program to enable agile modifications as dictated by operating conditions.
Cameron Chell, president and CEO of Draganfly, admitted, “We are honored to support the U.S. Army as it moves critical drone capabilities closer to front lines... By combining advanced Flex FPV Drone systems, embedded manufacturing, training, and secure logistics, we are helping reinforce operational agility and sustainment for forward deployed forces. This helps ensure personnel have the tools, training, and capabilities required when and where they need them most.”
Draganfly provides drone- and robotics-based solutions for public safety, agriculture, industrial inspections, security, mapping, and surveying. It supplies hardware, software, sensors, and services for multirotor and fixed-wing UAVs.
