Infineon Technologies XENSIV TLE4978 High-Bandwidth Current Sensor, Now at Mouser, Enables EV Chargers and AI Data Centers

August 18, 2026 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is shipping the new XENSIV™ TLE4978 high-bandwidth current sensor from Infineon Technologies. Designed for next-generation power conversion systems, the XENSIV TLE4978 combines low noise, high bandwidth, and high accuracy to deliver fast and reliable current measurements in applications such as server power supplies, DC-DC converters, onboard chargers, motor drives, and photovoltaic systems.

The XENSIV TLE497 sensor features a patented hybrid Hall-effect and coil architecture that delivers a bandwidth up to 9 MHz, enabling precise measurement of fast-switching currents in silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) power platforms. The coreless magnetic sensing technology provides linear current measurement while eliminating saturation and hysteresis effects commonly associated with open-loop sensor designs.

Offering a current measurement range of up to ±56A peak, the sensor provides high accuracy over temperature and lifetime, extremely low noise, and a low-resistance integrated current rail that minimizes power loss. Integrated protection features include programmable overcurrent detection with a 100 ns response time and zero-crossing detection with an 80 ns delay, helping protect SiC, GaN, MOSFET, and IGBT power switches in demanding high-voltage applications. The sensors are housed in a compact DSO-16 package and support both basic and reinforced isolation.

The TLE4978 is optimized for high-performance power electronics in AI data centers, electric vehicle charging systems, renewable energy equipment, and industrial power conversion applications, where precise current sensing is essential for improving efficiency, power density, and system reliability.

To help engineers accelerate development, the TLE4978EVAL40ATOBO2 evaluation board is available to order from Mouser. The board provides a ready-to-use platform for evaluating the XENSIV TLE4978 current sensor and exploring its analog output, overcurrent detection, and zero-cross detection capabilities.
