Two successive-detection log-video amplifiers (SDLVAs) from Hittite Microwave are available for use at frequencies from 600 MHz to 20 GHz and from 2 to 20 GHz, respectively. The former, model HMC913 is supplied in die format, while the latter, model HMC-C078, is supplied in a connectorized module. The HMC913 provides a logging slope of 14 mV/dB and nominal logging range of 59 dB. It can detect amplitudes from -54 to +5 dBm with 10 ns rise time and 25 ns recovery time. It consumes 80 mA from a single +3.3-VDC supply. Model HMC-C078 has a 50-dB logging range with 1 dB flatness for a -25-dBm input level.
