Model R&S SMBV100A from Rohde & Schwarz is now more than just a vector signal generator. With the addition of a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) simulator, the single-box instrument can simulate custom signal scenarios for Global Positioning System (GPS) and Galileo constellations with as many as 12 satellites in a configuration. This allows manufacturers of satellite receivers for these systems to exercise their new products with a single signal generator.

The GNSS capabilities are available as software options for the vector signal generator, which operates from 9 kHz to 3.2 GHz or 6 GHz, depending upon version.
