KANSAS CITY, KS—Interconnect Devices, Inc. (IDI), a manufacturer of spring contact probes, test sockets, and custom interconnect solutions, was recently recognized for outstanding achievement for website development by the Web Marketing Association’s Tenth Annual Web Award Competition (www.webaward.org).

More than 2300 websites from 35 countries were judged among 96 industry categories. IDI’s website, www.idinet.com, received two awards: the Manufacturing Standard of Excellence Award and the Electronics Standard of Excellence Award. The Standard of Excellence recognizes a website with an overall score higher than the average score for its industry. This was the first year for the Electronics Category.

Members of the IDI web team honored were Karen Bock, vice president of marketing; Lisa McCoy, web designer; and Larry Fields, programmer.

ETTERS, PA—FCI, a manufacturer of connectors and interconnect systems, has been awarded the 2006 Assodel Award for the Best Connector Manufacturer by the Italian Association of Electronics Suppliers for the third time. Now in their fourth year, the Assodel Awards recognize the best manufacturers and distributors of electronic components in Italy based on the votes of 470 representatives, including designers, manufacturers, buyers, and technical representatives.

ELKTON, MD—W.L. Gore & Associates’ High Flex Cable Assemblies recently achieved a milestone when its fiber-optic core surpassed the 50 million cycle mark during a rolling flex test. The multi-mode glass fiber-optic core was tested at a 48 mm bend radius with no change in optical attenuation when the test was stopped at 56 million cycles. The core was also tested at a 40 mm bend radius without cable chain with similar results.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC—Geomagic®, a worldwide software and services company, announced that it has won a 2006 Triangle Business Journal Fast 50 Award for being one of the fastest-growing private companies in the Triangle area of North Carolina. The award marks the third time that Geomagic has received the honor.

The Fast 50 list recognizes companies for revenue growth over a three-year period as tabulated by global accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers®LLP.
