Two new RF switches from NEC are now available from California Eastern Laboratories. Models UPG2409T6X and UPG2409TB handle 0.05 to 6.00 GHz and 0.5 to 3.8 GHz, respectively. Both are single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) GaAs monolithic-microwave-integrated-circuit (MMIC) switches ideal for applications in Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and other wireless systems. The former exhibits 0.45 dB insertion loss at 2.5 dB and 0.55 dB insertion loss at 3.8 dB, with 30 dB isolation at 2.5 GHz and 27 dB isolation at 6 GHz. It operates with +3-VDC control voltage and handles +36 dBm typical input power. The latter provides insertion loss of 0.45 dB at 2.5 GHz and 0.6 dB at 3.8 GHz, with isolation of 23 dB at 2.7 GHz and 19 dB at 3.8 GHz. It handles typically +35 dBm input power at 1-dB compression and operates with a +3-VDC control voltage.
