An innovative solution for camouflaging vehicular antennas is a license-plate antenna developed by Mobile Mark. Ideal for Wi-Fi or WiMAX radios or Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, the patented design accommodates multiple antennas in a single package. It hides the antenna elements in a plastic license-plate frame. Two-cable versions cover GPS and US, European, and Canadian cellular bands. Three-cable versions cover GPS, US cellular (850 and 1950 MHz), and 2.4- and 5-GHz Wi-Fi systems. The three-cable version can also be used for 4.9-GHz public-safety radio networks. The gain levels are 2.5, 2, and 5 dBi for cellular, Wi-Fi, and GPS bands. The antenna package can also be configured for a 15-MHz segment of the UHF band from 420 to 500 MHz with 50-W power-handling capability.
