PITTSBURGH, PA—BusinessWeek ranked Ansoft Corp. 25th on its annual Hot Growth list of America's 100 fastest-growing small companies, improving upon last year's ranking of 46.

After analyzing data from 10,000 pubic companies with revenues of $50 million to $1.5 billion a year, BusinessWeek selected the top 100 finalists whose sales, earnings, and return on capital grew the fastest over three years.

CHERRY HILL, NJ—inTEST Corp. announced that it has received ISO 9001 certification, based on the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

The ISO 9001:2000 designation refers to a multi-faceted quality management system for companies. The standard is published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a worldwide federation of national standards bodies, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. To be certified, a company must implement multi-level quality management structures and procedures in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 standard, and successfully complete a certification audit conducted by an accredited certification body. inTEST Corp. was audited by Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, PA—An ASTM International Award of Merit and accompanying title of fellow honor the contributions of Albert V. Brandemarte, Jr., to ASTM Committee E04 on Metallography. Brandemarte, chief metallographer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Div. (NSWCCD), West Bethesda, MD, received the award for his outstanding leadership in the committee and his contributions to standardizing metallographic procedures and practice. The award is the highest ASTM recognition for individual contributions to standards activities.

PISCATAWAY, NJ—The IEEE has named Russell Keith Raney as the recipient of its 2007 IEEE Dennis J. Picard Medal for Radar Technologies and Applications for his contributions to space-based radars and synthetic-aperture-radar (SAR) systems that have contributed to observational programs by several space agencies of Venus, the moon, and the earth.
