Model 4797 is a miniature variable attenuator from Narda Microwave-East, an L-3 Communications company, with wide attenuation range of 0 to 45 dB from DC to 18 GHz. The unit provides accuracy of 1.5 dB over frequency and is specified for maximum VSWR of 1.30:1. Although it measures only 2.64 x 3.25 x 1 in. and weighs just 12 oz., it can handle 10 W average input power and 3 kW peak input power. The variable attenuator exhibits less than 1 dB insertion loss across its full frequency range and is supplied with SMA female connectors.
