Fabless semiconductor company WiSpry, Inc. has announced a family of tunable digital capacitors based on microelectromechanical-systems (MEMS) technology. Fabricated on standard 200-mm CMOS wafers, the circuits integrate low-power CMOS control and voltage geneation logic with an array of tunable RF MEMS digital capacitors to provide a linear, digitally programmable variable capacitance device. They are suitable for a variety of potential applications, including for antenna tuning, impedance matching, amplifier tuing, and programmable RF filters.
