Advanced Scheduler Addresses Complex Software Integration

TTTech Auto's MotionWise Schedule software solution is designed to address software workload management in the automotive sector, as it shifts toward software-defined vehicles. Such vehicles have an increasing number of software components, with complex interdependencies, requiring an advanced hardware infrastructure. This creates challenges in testing methodologies and allocating software components in a cost-effective manner.

MotionWise Schedule uses scheduling algorithms to ensure that software components and communication assets are mapped to the proper hardware resources, significantly reducing the time required for software releases, encompassing design, testing, and validation phases. Enforcing configuration outcomes, it offers a safe execution environment that includes safe real-time and run-time scheduling, guaranteed end-to-end timing, Freedom From Interference for mixed-criticality systems, and deterministic execution.

This complements TTTech Auto’s MotionWise safety middleware designed for distributed architectures requiring safety and real-time properties. MotionWise Schedule contains all of the technology developed for MotionWise in a modular and flexible product, enabling a seamless integration with standardized based architectures as well as custom ones. It maps tasks to CPU cores while defining the network configuration for time-sensitive networking based on highly optimized multi-CPU core and multi-SoC solutions.

Alix is Editor-at-Large for Microwaves & RF.

An Army veteran, Alix Paultre was a signals intelligence soldier on the East/West German border in the early ‘80s, and eventually wound up helping launch and run a publication on consumer electronics for the U.S. military stationed in Europe. Alix first began in this industry in 1998 at Electronic Products magazine, and since then has worked for a variety of publications, most recently as Editor-in-Chief of Power Systems Design.

Alix currently lives in Wiesbaden, Germany.
