Elbit Systems Provides Drone Defense to NATO Member
Elbit Systems Ltd. was awarded a contract worth approximately $60 million to supply its multi-layered Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) equipment to a European NATO country. As part of the contract, which will be fulfilled over a three-year period, the firm will deliver its ReDrone C-UAS system.
The ReDrone system integrates the firm’s advanced DAiR radar, signal-intelligence (SIGINT) sensors, electronic-warfare (EW) electronic-countermeasures (ECM) subsystems, and electro-optical (EO) payload. The EO payload will provide enhanced aerial images of a target area.
The modular ReDrone system enables rapid detection and location of multiple drones simultaneously across various communication channels within the protected area. The system can detect, identify, locate, track, and neutralize hostile UASs in rural and urban areas during daytime and nighttime.
It features mobile and stationary configurations for flexibility under a wide range of operating conditions. The system provides extensive command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) capabilities for comprehensive mission management.
Regarding the contract, Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR and EW explained, “This contract, coming amid the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems, follows a series of contracts awarded to us in the C-UAS field. We are proud that another NATO member country has chosen our solution, further demonstrating the robustness and effectiveness of our system, built on our advanced capabilities in EW, SIGINT, radar, and EO technologies.”
