Northrop Grumman Amherst Contracted for JTE System

Northrop Grumman Amherst Systems has been contracted for long-term support of the JTE system.

Northrop Grumman Amherst Systems (Buffalo, N.Y.) has been awarded a $450 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for U.S. forces (including Air Force and Navy) and Foreign Military Sales countries for Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) production end-items, spares, support equipment, testing, and training. Work on the contract, which is expected to be completed by Dec. 5, 2025, will be performed in Buffalo and various locations within the contiguous and outside the continental U.S.

The JTE system provides warfighter training for combat aircrews with a modern battlespace environment. It is designed to help train military personnel to identify and counter enemy missile or artillery fire. The system provides effective radiated power levels, simulating both single- and double-digit surface-to-air and anti-aircraft artillery radar systems. This helps to train combat aircrews to overcome integrated air defense systems (IADS) in a realistic warlike training environment.

The contract involves foreign military sales to U.S. partner countries. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (Hill Air Force Base, Utah) is the contracting entity.
