Solid-state power amplifiers were in abundance on the AOC show floor, including the model BME25869-50 from Comtech PST. Based on gallium-nitride GaN transistor technology, the amplifier delivers 50 W output power from 2500 to 6000 MHz with gain of 54 dB. Measuring only 7.5 x 3.0 x 1.5 in. excluding the coaxial connectors, the amplifier provides harmonic rejection of -13 dBc and can operate on supplies of +18 to +36 VDC. It can handle an infinite load VSWR and weighs just 3 lbs.
