To satisfy precision requirements in test and measurement applications that demand high frequency and superior RF performance, a 50-GHz single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch has debuted. The switch, which expands the Radiall Modular System for Electromechanical Switches (RAMSES) R570 coaxial-relay series, features three 2.4-mm connectors. The RAMSES SPDT switch exhibits insertion loss of 0.7 dB with VSWR of 1.55:1. At 50 GHz, it provides typical isolation of 80 dB.

The switch boasts a life cycle of two million and an actuator terminal with solder pins. According to the firm, most competitive products can only achieve one million cycles. In addition, the unique internal construction makes the switches modular, which reduces the cost and lead time. All RAMSES configurations are applicable to the 50-GHz SPDT switch and are available with failsafe or latching versions in 12 or 28 V. Other options include TTL driver, selfcutoff, and indicators.
