A new trio of frequency multipliers from Rohde & Schwarz extend the frequency range of the firm's signal generators to 110 GHz. Frequency multipliers in the R&S SMZ series offer mechanically or electronically controlled built-in attenuator options and are ideal for use with the company's R&S SMF100A microwave signal generator. The electronically controlled attenuator offers a dynamic range of 15 dB, the mechanically controlled attenuator a dynamic range of 25 dB. The multipliers can be controlled by the generator via a Universal Serial Bus (USB) or by the signal source's GPIB or local-area network (LAN) interfaces. The frequency multiplier family includes three models: the R&S SMZ75 (50 GHz to 75 GHz), the R&S SMZ90 (60 GHz to 90 GHz), and the R&S SMZ110 (75 GHz to 110 GHz).
