Trusted Computing System Protects Video Over Optical Fiber

VadaTech Inc. recently introduced the VT085 and VT086 kernel virtual machine (KVM) extension over a secure LC fiber link. The system encodes data with a proprietary algorithm that can prevent an enemy from intercepting sensitive data as the data moves over fiber.

The VT085 encodes the USB 2.0, dual DP++, Display Port (DP), or HDMI and transmits the data over LC fiber. The video can be as fine as 4K resolution on each of the two video inputs.

The output from the VT086 side has programmable video overlay capability that the user controls over Ethernet. Video encode and decode is lossless, and the VT085 configuration and management are available via serial port.

Hardware handles VT085 and VT086 encoding, decoding, and data processing for a low-latency protocol. The glass-to-glass latency is less than 20 µs.

The module supports white listing of attached USB devices. The host USB only can numerate approved devices, which prevents unauthorized access. It also can store a secure key, and has rugged I/O connectors that operate in harsh environments.

The VT085 and VT086 trusted-computing system comes with a fanless enclosure or optionally as a board-level product without enclosure to enable designers to fully integrate the unit into a user console.
