Aug. 7, 2019
Texas A&M University is considering adding a J.S. Army combat development complex to its campus.

The Texas A&M University Board of Regents plans to discuss the possibility of constructing a $130 million combat development complex for the U.S. Army during an open session on Aug. 8. The complex is among several agenda items to be considered during the meeting, including possible approval of a system operating budget for fiscal year 2020 and a $2.9 billion System Capital Plan for fiscal years 2020 through 2024.

The Texas A&M University System is one of the largest systems of higher education in the U.S., with a budget of $6.3 billion and a statewide network of 11 universities throughout Texas. The university system features a comprehensive health science center and serves eight state agencies. It helps to educate more than 153,000 students and makes more than 22 million additional educational contacts through service and outreach programs each year.
