Taming Interference In Emerging HetNets

The problems posed by interference to emerging HetNet communications systems have been analyzed in this free report.

HetNets, if they work as planned, can provide huge boosts in coverage and capacity to wireless networks. A HetNet is essentially a blend of macrocells, radio heads, pico cells, and various other wireless communications systems and subsystems that must seamlessly interact to form a cohesive network. Although the interaction of so many different signals at different power levels has often been presented as the main challenge in designing and executing a HetNet, other problems can arise, including the problems from interference.

To help understand some of those problems and how to overcome them, a free report from Southern Methodist University (SMU) reviews the possible interference problems in a wireless HetNet and different ways in which the interference can be handled.
