Synergy Microwave is now offering precision test cables in addition to its lines of high-frequency passive components, oscillators, and frequency synthesizers. The test cables, available for use past 18 GHz, feature PTFE dielectric material and gold-plated coaxial connectors with brass center pins to minimize reflections (return loss) and insertion loss. The cables are specified for temperatures from -55 to +105C for use in environmental test chambers. Example products include the model SF2-SMNM cable, which is 2 ft. in length with an SMA connector at one end and Type N connector at the other. It exhibits 1.21 dB insertion loss at the upper-frequency range (18 GHz) at room temperature +25C and just 1.30 dB insertion loss at -40C.
