TTE’s EMI/RFI Filters Meet MIL-PRF-28861 Standard

The ML61 series of EMI/RFI filters is qualified to the DoD’s MIL-PRF-28861 standard thanks to rigorous mechanical, electrical, and lifetime testing by Gowanda Electronics.

The ML61 series of EMI/RFI filters manufactured by Instec Filters, a company acquired by TTE Filters, is now qualified to the U. S. Department of Defense (DoD) MIL-PRF-28861 military standard for land and maritime use. The filters suppress and minimize radio-frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) that can degrade and disrupt the performance of electronic systems. The electrical, thermal, and mechanical screening and testing required to qualify for MIL-PRF-28861 were performed at TTE sister company Gowanda Electronics.

The miniature ML61 series EMI/RFI filters (see the figure) are hermetically glass sealed at one end and epoxy sealed at the other. They measure 0.128 in. (3.25 mm) in diameter with main body height of 0.110 in. (2.79 mm) and tip-to-tip length of 0.625 in. (15.88 mm). They can be supplied in configurations A or B according to MIL-PRF-28861 requirements. They are rated for voltages from 50 to 200 VDC and operating temperatures from -55 to +125°C, with available capacitances from 10 to 15,000 pF and insertion loss from 3 to 60 dB to provide suitable EMI and RFI suppression. TTE will be showing the filters at the upcoming 2021 IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) scheduled for a face-to-face event in Atlanta, GA on June 7-10, 2021 and as part of a “virtual” online event scheduled for June 20-25, 2021.
