In support of the expected strong interest in GaN power amplifiers at the 2016 IMS, Peregrine Semiconductor will show the latest capabilities of its model PE46120 monolithic phase and amplitude control (MPAC) Doherty device for amplitude and phase control of two independent RF signal paths. The PE46120 integrates a 90-deg. RF splitter, digital phase shifters, and a digital step attenuator along with a low-voltage CMOS serial interface. It provides a phase control range of 87.2 deg. in 2.8-deg. steps and an amplitude (attenuation) control range of 7.5 dB in 0.5-dB steps, with excellent amplitude and phase accuracy from 1800 to 2200 MHz. The PE46120 also features exceptional linearity, high output port-to-port isolation and extremely low power consumption relative to competing module solutions.
Based on the firm’s UltraCMOS technology, the MPAC-Doherty family has grown with the addition of the model PE46130 and PE46140 MPAC devices which extend the frequency range to 1800 to 3800 MHz for use with GaN-based power amplifiers in LTE and LTE-A wireless infrastructure equipment. Visitors to the company’s exhibit Booth No. 2129 can witness the different MPAC-Doherty devices in several different demonstrations of their performance capabilities in amplifier and beamforming applications.
