Compact Synths Reach 67 GHz

June 3, 2014
Fast-switching frequency synthesizers provide high resolution in compact housings through 67 GHz.

The QuickSyn Lite line of frequency synthesizers from Phase Matrix (a National Instruments Company) have been extended in frequency to 67 GHz. Capable of microsecond switching speed and operating in frequency sweep and list modes, these compact frequency synthesizers measure just 4 × 4 × 0.8 in. but can perform with the majority of functions of much larger, more expensive measurement-grade signal sources. The QuickSyn Lite synthesizers are equipped with Universal Serial Bus (USB) and SPI control interfaces and can achieve frequency resolution as fine as 0.001 Hz (in lower-frequency models). For a demonstration, see them at Phase Matrix's 2014 IMS booth (No. 633).
