Here's this week's selection of some of the most interesting new products that have been launched of late.

The INS1001DE is designed to drive single-channel GaN HEMTs in either low-side, high-side, or secondary-side SR applications.

GaN Driver IC Handles LV, MV, and HV e-mode GaN HEMTs

Innoscience Technology's INS1001DE is designed to drive single-channel gallium-nitride (GaN) HEMTs in either low-, high-, or secondary-side SR applications. Matched to optimize the performance of e-mode GaN HEMTs, it offers a fast propagation delay, along with input noise de-glitching and built-in UVLO, OVP, and OTP protection features. Dual non-inverting and inverting PWM inputs enable flexible operation with controllers, optocouplers, and digital isolators.

Independent pull-up and pull-down outputs control turn-on and turn-off speeds, and the driver voltage is user-programmable to suit different gate requirements using an external resistor divider. An integrated 5-V LDO can supply digital isolators or other circuitry in high-side applications.

Available in a thermally-enhanced DFN3x3-10L package, it has a 6- to 20-V operating voltage range as well as 1.3-Ω pull-up and 0.5-Ω pull-down resistance.

An Army veteran, Alix Paultre was a signals intelligence soldier on the East/West German border in the early ‘80s, and eventually wound up helping launch and run a publication on consumer electronics for the U.S. military stationed in Europe. Alix first began in this industry in 1998 at Electronic Products magazine, and since then has worked for a variety of publications, most recently as Editor-in-Chief of Power Systems Design.
