Couplers Connect 2 To 40 GHz

Feb. 21, 2013
Equipped with different coaxial connectors, these two 10-dB directional couplers are both usable from 2 to 40 GHz.

A pair of 10-dB directional couplers from Krytar provide extremely broadband coverage from 2 to 40 GHz, differentiated by their coaxial connectors. Models 102040010and 102040010K are equipped with 2.4-mm SMA female connectors and 2.92-mm SMA female connectors, respectively. Otherwise, both components feature 10-dB nominal coupling with ±1-dB coupling flatness and frequency sensitivity of ±0.7 dB. The couplers achieve better than 15-dB directivity from 2 to 20 GHz and better than 11-dB directivity from 20 to 40 GHz. Suitable for broadband electronic-warfare (EW) systems and commercial wireless system applications, the couplers exhibit insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.2 dB from 2 to 20 GHz and less than 1.8 dB from 20 to 40 GHz. The maximum VSWR at any port is 1.50:1 from 2 to 20 GHz and 1.70:1 from 20 to 40 GHz. The compact couplers measure 1.75 x 0.40 x 0.65 in. and weigh only 1.2 oz. They are rated for 20 W average power and 3 kW peak power. The couplers are designed for operating temperatures from -54 to +85°C.
