In celebration of the FCC's mandate of digital video broadcast (DVB) for everyone in February 2009, Applied Wave Research (AWR) has added DVB analysis capability to its popular Visual System Simulator (VSS) design software suite. The DVB library is compliant with the ETSI EN 300 744 V1.5.1 (2004-06) specifications and supports both Digital Video Broadcast - Terrestrial (DVB-T) and Digital Video Broadcast - Handheld (DVB-H) specifications. VSS is part of the AWR Design Environment and allows the analysis of environmental factors and other effects to be studied when modeling a component design. It gives designers the ability to create the best system architecture by optimizing each of its components from the behavioral through component levels in conjunction with AWR's Microwave Office software, and then use actual measurements to validate the final design.
