The "B" version of the Agilent E5052A signal source analyzer, popular among manufacturers of high-frequency oscillators, has received a tenfold improvement in measurement throughput and more precise analysis functions compared to the earlier version. The new Agilent E5052B spans 10 MHz to 7 GHz with wide offset frequency ranges, lower local phase noise, and longer memory. Phase-noise offset frequency can now be set to 100 MHz. The measurement range of the signal source analyzer can be extended to 26.5 GHz or to 110 GHz with external mixers. The close-in residual phase noise has been improved by 16 dB or more at 1-Hz offset. The price of the "B" version remains the same as the older "A" version, at $79,000.
