High-frequency software supplier Eagleware Corp. (Norcross, GA) has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Elanix, Inc. (Westlake Village, CA) a supplier of system-level simulator software, for an undisclosed sum. The agreement has been approved by Elanix shareholders and the Eagleware board of directors and the transaction is expected to close shortly. According to Eagleware CEO Todd Cutler, "combining Elanix's proven signal processing technology with the power of our RF and microwave design software allows our customers to approach communication product design holistically." Andre Kobel, President of Elanix, added, "Our combined software offering will reduce final product cost by enabling designers to determine the optimal design blocks and parameters early in the design cycle, when problems are easier to fix." Cutler also commented that the merger brings together RF and digital-signal-processing (DSP) tools: "For the first time, a single environment will provide the path from system level to hardware for both RF and DSP technologies."
