Aeroflex has developed a TETRA Energy Economy Mode (EEM) for its 3900 series analog and digital TETRA digital radio test sets. Option 114 enables flexible testing of TETRA handheld mobile radios by allowing operators to configure battery test scenarios that simulate actual operating conditions. The option can also characterize performance when the handheld unit is used on a TETRA network. According to Product Manager Graham Stevens, "Aeroflex developed this new option for testing TETRA battery life in response to a number of requests from key mobile manufacturers."
