WITH THE RELEASE OF the 2010 Microwave Office (MWO) design suite, engineers are promised new functionality and tools to increase productivity in the design of high-frequency monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), microwave integrated circuits (MICs), RF printed-circuit boards (PCBs), and modules. The release supports nonlinear behavioral modeling via Agilent's X-parameters, Mesuro's Cardiff model, and more. In addition, it delivers improved speed in the multi-rate harmonic-balance (MRHB) technology for the design of complex circuits. With AWR Connected for Cadence Allegro, Cadence PCB layouts can be imported into MWO for further analysis and electromagnetic (EM) simulation. The new release provides linear stability analysis including normalized determinant function and stability envelope measurement. Among other highlights is a connectivity tracer for identifying nets and locating shorts and opens visually.
